This entry is part 2 of 4 in the series Read Watch Listen Follow

Welcome back to the monthly linkup where we talk about all the things we are currently reading, watching, listening and following.

readwatchlistenfollow

Today is a double post kind of day since I’m doing Write 31 Days and we are almost to the halfway point! Woohoo! I’ve been cooking up a storm over at My Italian Kitchen.

::READ::

I have become such a lazy reader because I’ve been listening to so many books! I just LOVE being able to do two things at once! I am ALMOST finished with The Real Thing: Lessons on Love and Life From a Wedding Reporter’s Notebook.

After that I will start on A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith. I don’t remember where I heard about this one from but it was in my TBR list on GoodReads and it came in at the Library.

::WATCH::

I did a binge-watch session of more Gilmore Girls when Michael was out of town last week and ALMOST finished it but not quite. I want to start watching This Is Us because several friends have said it’s good. I’m not too far behind, but really, WHEN do people find the time?? Maybe tonight, since I finished my audio book. Or maybe I should finish GG. Sigh. Too many choices.

::LISTEN::

I just finished Rules of Civility by Amor Towles on audio. Eh. I liked it okay. I gave it 3.5 stars in my GoodReads. The writing was good. I guess I didn’t love the setting (1930’s in NYC) and the characters and the choices they make. I like to be inspired in my reading. I want characters to emulate, not shake my head at in disgust.

I have two more to listen to: The Patron Saint of Liars by Ann Patchett

and Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson

I leave today on a road trip. Has anyone read these? Can you recommend one that will be okay for a 16 year old to listen in as well?

::FOLLOW::

Last month I mentioned that I like to follow home-decor blogs because I learn so much from them. Another blog I love in this genre is Cristina’s Remodelando la Casa. She is a DIYer extraordinaire. Just look at the kitchen she remodeled on her own! SHE remodeled! This gal can work with power tools! Here’s the before pic:

rlc-kitchen-beforeAnd here’s the after picture. Isn’t amazing?? I found her blog on pinterest when I was searching for something and got lost on her blog going down bunny trails. Now I subscribe and am always impressed with what she comes up with.

rlc-kitchen-afterHer latest project has been her son’s room. You can check that out here. I just love the way she repurposes things! I highly recommend her to you.

What have you been reading, watching, listening to or following? Won’t you let me know in the comments?

About Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day

I'm a wife, mom, and a homeschool teacher. I'm always behind on housework and paper pile sorting. I'm fond of this crazy life but not of melted cheese. I want to follow hard after God, making each day really count. I like to run, read, cook (and eat!). Thanks for joining along on my journey!

  1. I am watching Gilmore Girls as well and loving it recently. It only took 4 seasons for me to fall in love, whatevs.

  2. I still haven’t watched a single episode of Gilmore Girls! I need to get on that. Thanks for hosting this link up – it’s fun! Have a great weekend!

  3. Post coming later today. House cleaning got in my way. That rhymes. I haven’t watched any Gilmore Girls. I don’t like the title but read about people really enjoying the series. Guess I need to get past that title and try it. We are headed for a road trip tomorrow. Listening to A Man Called Ove…or that’s the plan, anyway. You might try The Book Thief as an audio book for your trip. Safe travels.
