Day 30: Sheath dress + plaid shirt/chambray {Write 31 Days}

Today I thought I’d try the dress with some other shirts. I really like it with my new plaid shirt that I I got from Forever 21. It’s not a heavy shirt so it doesn’t bulk up under the dress. I think it adds just the right amount of red and fun to the outfit. I might try the outfit with a red vest or tights when the weather gets cooler.

I tried it with black boots and it totally works! I could easily wear black or nude pumps or even my red or black flats. Lots of options for footwear with this outfit!

Then I tried the dress with the chambray shirt and switched the boots to brown riding boots. I added some blingy pearls to make the outfit a little more feminine.

When the weather cools off I would wear some tights, either a pattern (wouldn’t plaid tights be cute?? or sweater tights?) or a fun color. I could add some boot cuffs for more interest. Do you know what boot cuffs are? They are the Florida answer to boot socks. In case it’s too hot, or your boots fit well and you don’t have room for a thick sock, enter the boot cuff!

These beautiful lacy cuffs were crocheted by the incredibly talented Karla of Roads to Everywhere. You can buy your own in her Etsy shop! She has several other colors as well.

I knit the red ones last year.

I love this blank canvas dress!

  1. I love the shirt under the jumper! Especially the plaid one.

    And the boot cuffs look great! I like your red knitted ones, too. It’s nice to have variety. Thanks for the plug. I “borrowed” your picture for my post.
