Monday Moments of Gratitude #8

This entry is part 7 of 16 in the series Monday Moments of Gratitude

Linking up with Simply Shaunacey for another Monday Moments of Gratitude, a place where we are intentionally grateful for the little things in life.

Monday Moments of Gratitude

        1.

Whole 30.

How can I be happy for something that eliminates cappuccinos, cheese in my salad, and yogurt, all things I ate in abundance on THM? After one month of eating on plan and not losing any weight and my clothes fitting tight, I needed to hit the reset button. I have several close friends who have had success on this eating plan so I decided to give it a try.  Providentially, Denise of My Thrifty House is also giving it a go. She is posting her daily log over

on her blog.

         2.

My daughter.

Since misery loves company, I was thrilled when my daughter agreed to join me on the W 30 eating plan. We can share ideas for yummy healthy meals! Except that I was traveling when I started, so we weren’t really together. However, one of my travel companions eats a raw plant-based diet so we ate our apples, bananas, and avocados together!

         3.

BookShark.

I mentioned I was traveling…I was in Cincinnati, Ohio at a homeschool convention. I was representing the sister company to the curriculum we use. I really enjoy helping people figure out their homeschool curriculum needs. When they come into the booth overwhelmed with all the options available and then leave with a happy smile on their face, it makes me happy for them.

         4.

My son’s prom.

My son is a senior in high school so he is experiencing many “last” moments. This weekend he had his last prom and judging from the pictures he sent me on SnapChat he had a wonderful time!

            5.

    Home!

I love traveling but the old adage is true: “There’s no place like home!”

I'm a wife, mom, and a homeschool teacher. I'm always behind on housework and paper pile sorting. I'm fond of this crazy life but not of melted cheese. I want to follow hard after God, making each day really count. I like to run, read, cook (and eat!). Thanks for joining along on my journey!

    1. I’m curious to see how you like Whole 30 – I’ve heard good things about it. My son has prom next month – I can’t believe it’s that time already!

    2. Awww, such a cute photo, seems early for Prom already. At least in our areas they aren’t until May. Hey I’ve been thinking of doing the Whole 30 for a month to get those few pounds I gained while out with my ankle surgery…did you buy the book? Or did you just look around the net? Advice please!

    3. Wonder if Whole 30 is something like 21 Day? Seems like they focus on eating whole=unprocessed/unpackaged? foods. I am doing 21 Day with some distractions.

      1. I’m not familiar with 21 Day Fix but yes. Essentially it’s focusing on lean meats, fruits and veggies. No preservatives, MSG, etc. and no dairy, no sugar (not even stevia) and no grains (not even quinoa). It’s doable but I do miss my cappuccinos! No distractions here. Next week in LV it will be tough with all the gals drinking wine. Oh well. I have a goal!
