Navy and Linen Outfit

Today I’m sharing an outfit I put together from old favorites. One of the things that I love about classic pieces in basic colors is that they are so remixable and can still feel fresh!

It was comfortable and cool thanks to  the linen A-lined skirt and the lightweight jersey navy tank top.I paired this outfit with a gold-and-pearl starfish necklace that was a gift from my friend and gold and pearl bracelets. The only new thing is the neutral thong sandals. I found those this season at TJMaxx. When I went out to dinner that night, I threw on a denim jacket to ward off the cool of the air conditioning in the restaurant. It was a perfect outfit!

Remember when I asked about whether I should cut my hair or leave it long? So many of you liked it long but I cut it. Guess what? It’s long again!

My hairdresser is no longer doing hair and I need to find another one but it’s so hard! How do you decide? Plus I’m so busy so I just ignore it, but the darn stuff keeps growing! It was such a good cut last time that it’s growing out well and it’s not driving me crazy yet! Tell me, PLEASE, how do YOU find a good hair stylist? Because I need to some tips on how to find one!

  1. Beautiful outfit, Sheila! Finding a new hairdresser is no fun at all! Each time we moved I tried to pay attention to ladies’ hair. If I liked their cut, I asked who their hairdresser was. My other strategy was to look online at salons located near me and see what I could determine from their website and Facebook page. I like a hairdresser who will meet with me first and talk about my cut and what they’d recommend. Then I feel more confident making an appointment with them. (And then I tipped them extra well for taking that time with me.) I hope you find someone great!

  2. Navy just screams summer to me and I love your classic look! I agree that finding a new hair stylist is SO hard! I had to do it myself nearly a year ago! Good luck!

  3. LOVE this look Sheila!! I need more linen in my life!! And with that necklace…perfection!!! You are the third person I’ve seen this week sporting Starfish…I think I need to add it to my collection too!!

  4. I love this look on you! While I was busy admiring your outfit I was distracted by your necklace. I’m an accessory gal and I adore the star necklace. What a unique and totally you piece to add.

  5. I mentioned it on Instagram – but that look is stunning on you! Good stylist are so hard to find – why is that?!? I just found one and then he left my salon – but I tracked him down.

  6. I really think you’ve got your own personal style down to a t. I love everything about it and how naturally relaxed and comfortable you look

  7. Such a lovely outfit! I haven’t worn linen in years, but it’s such a great summer fabric. My friend cut my hair for years, and then she moved away. Luckily she recommended someone and she does a great job. It’s so hard to find someone new!

      1. Thought for a sec I was the only one who has trouble with linen and wrinkles. It is such a perfect weight for summer but I always look a wrinkled mess in linen versus just a regular mess in everything else! Ha! It is such a classy fabric, though. And you look crisp and wrinkle-free. Lovely look.

Was reminded of a star fish necklace I have. Will have to wear it soon. Yours is such a perfect piece for the beach babe you are.

I am growing my hair out a bit, too, at the encouragement of my whole family. Apparently no one liked my really short pixie cut. Hope you find a stylist you feel comfortable with again. I am no one to give hair advice at all…I often forget to brush mine. XO

  8. You’re adorable as always! Text me if you’re still searching for a stylist. 🙂
