The best kind of boat…

…is someone else’s. We are boat owners. We have also sold a boat. I love the water which means that I love being ON the water. But boat ownership = a lot of work. Upkeep. Money. So that’s why someone else’s boat is great! You get to just show up and enjoy it!

Last weekend my brother-in-law graciously offered us the use of his boat. We had a blast riding down the intercostal to St. Augustine.

Happy happy happy!

The kids each brought a friend. They had a blast riding on the tube. Penny enjoyed it immensely too!
selfie time!

She was done with the selfies

So tired…!

This week we were invited to go on a friend’s sailboat for the inaugural sail. It’s a beautiful 42′ Beneteau. It’s great to be back on a sailboat! And the weather could NOT have been more perfect. Light breeze, calm seas, sunny. PERFECTION!

Lazyjacks!! Makes dropping the main a breeze!

As we motored out the mouth of the St. John’s River we passed by the boat that found the Titanic!

Once we hit the mouth, the sails go up..

Happy first mate at the helm!

We see porpoises multiple times and two turtles!

That is turtle #2

All too soon we reach the pier and it’s time to turn around. We head back at the right time since summertime in Florida means afternoon thunderstorms.

We could see the lightning but it never did reach us.
I see two houses that I love: my dream beach house with a little tower room on top.

Dream house #1

Dream house #2

Thank you Hugh and Michelle for a wonderful time! Anytime you need crew, we’re happy to oblige! I’ll be sure to bring the snacks!
