31 Days {Writing Challenge}

For the month of October, I will be participating in a writing challenge that was begun by Myquillyn Smith (a.k.a. the Nester) but is being continued by Crystal Stine. The idea is to pick a topic and write about it for a whole month. One topic. That’s the challenging part. Oh and the writing every day part. That should be interesting.

31 Days Challenge

There are nine different categories to choose from. I had a hard time choosing! If you’re curious what it’s about check out the links from last year:

House and Home – I could write about that since I’m working on decluttering, rearranging, upgrading, etc.

Simplicity and Organizing – I could write about this since I want to simplify, declutter and maybe KonMari my house. But I’m not sure I can write about that EVERY day! I have life afterall!

Family Life – Another good contender but I’m afraid I’ll run out of material after about a week.

Inspiration and Faith – I do not consider myself a very inspirational person. I’m just not wired that way. I’ll leave that to the deep thinkers.

Writing Blogging and Internet Stuff – This is an area that I’ll read for sure but I’m still early on the learning curve to be able to give advice.

Food Health and Wellness – This was my other serious contender.

Personal Endeavors – Nah. Nothing much here.

Too Awesome to Categorize – This category made me laugh but I was still drawing a blank.

Fashion and Beauty – This is the one I decided to go with. I have to get dressed every day so I should be able to pull it off.

So please come back and check on my progress! I need the accountability!

  1. So, I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about this. I hadn’t seen this post at three a.m. when I was mulling over ideas. I had thought of writing about 31 crazy things that have happened to me. But now that I see the categories, I am not sure that fits anywhere. Maybe too awesome (read crazy) to categorize? Could do organizing. Hmmm, what to do, what to do. Did you make your final decision?

    1. I think that 31 crazy things definitely fits under the “two awesome to categorize” category. Can you think of that many crazy things? Maybe brainstorm and jot down some ideas and see how many you come up with. I hope you do it! I would love to read your stories! And who knows maybe it will develop into a book!!?

  2. I’m still mulling this one over. I’m would like the challenge of writing for 31 days… but not sure how much more I want to narrow my focus. Surely i can come up with something that would work, huh?
