Look what I can do!
This is the topic of this week’s Style Me Bloggers post. And I had great intentions of sewing all sorts of new things (pillow covers such as this one or this one or any of these (I even have that fabric in that print!) to name one) for this post. But alas, I’ve been so busy with getting ready for the new Homeschool Conference season; and of course, homeschooling; getting my new blog up and running; and let’s not forget my regular duties of being a mom and wife (housework!) that I’ve not done a lot of creative things. The ONE thing that I did make time to do is make these little picture frames. Months ago, in the fall, I had sorted my large shell collection and had planned on making a shell framed mirror like this one. But I had a problem. I didn’t have a mirror. And I also didn’t think I had enough shells to adequately cover a mirror. I was browsing in Goodwill one day and came across two simple wood picture frames. Simple because the wood was flat and unadorned. For $0.99 I snapped them up. And then they sat, in my son’s room, waiting for me to use them. FINALLY, I got around to painting them white when we painted the bookcase (future post on that). And then FINALLY I got around to hot gluing the shells on.
I t didn’t take long and it wasn’t a difficult project. I just never made the time! I used all different kinds of shells, shark’s teeth, a crab’s claw and shell, bits of coral and even a piece of driftwood!
I really like how they turned out. They match our nautical theme nicely. Now I just need to add some photos to them!

Love the new blog design/name! Those seashell frames are so natural and beautiful. I wish I had a beach near me to collect such cool things.
Thanks Deena! I’m still working on things. So much to do/learn for a new blog/platform! I love shells and although I have tons of them I cannot resist picking up another perfect one. Hence, gotta find things to do with them!
Love these Sheila!! Great job!! I love all the shells!!
Thanks Katie! Glad you like them!
love them!!!! they totally look like you bought them!
I love this! They definitely look like something you would find in a cute shop at the beach! Great job!
Thanks so much Karen! I might just have to make more and give them as gifts! I certainly have more shells I can use.
what a great way to use shells. I always have fun looking for shells but I try not to take them home because I just don’t know what to do with them
I love these! The beach is one of my favorite places, so I was instantly drawn to them. Love the new look of your blog!
